How to Clean Jake’s Amish Wood Furniture Without Damaging the Finish Properly cleaning wood furniture is essential to maintaining its natural beauty and luster. Simple dust particles can be abrasive and may scratch the surface if not removed carefully.
At Jake’s Amish Furniture, we ONLY RECOMMEND our Exclusive, Patented MiraFiber UltimateCloth, to gently remove dust, simply wet it with water to collect the dust and dirt. Always finish wipe in the direction of the wood grain to prevent streaking or damage. If you see any water beads on the furniture afterwards, wring out your Ultimate cloth harder or use a dryer one to re-dry.
Never use Pledge or any polishes including silicone, as it will penetrate our state of the art finish and get into the wood pours where it causes horrific damage. For fine scratches we suggest Old English Furniture Polish.
For stubborn stains Jake has successfully used a “Magic or Quick Eraser”. For sticky food residue we simply use our soapy dish cloth, but rinse with only water wet cloth, then dry with a soft towel. Jake likes to apply a small amount of Organic Coconut Oil to remove grease and restore the luster. Organic Coconut Oil provides a protective layer that enhances the wood’s natural beauty without causing buildup. This approach not only adds in removing grime but also revitalizes the finish.
By following these guidelines you may rest assured; the furniture you purchase today will be here for tomorrow’s generation.
